Character Classes
My editor suggested that new fans of LitRPG and fantasy may not have experience with the various character classes discussed in the series. Here are some brief descriptions of the roles the characters fill and the abilities that they confer.
Artificer
Artificers in Heavenly Places are the inheritors of a mystery that bridges two worlds. Whether Earthborn engineers transported through the Fertile Crescent or Aeramori tinkerers awakened by divine revelation, they work at the intersection of faith, creation, and impossible technology.
Barbarian
Barbarians channel the raw, untamed power of Aeramor. Many believe their fury is a spiritual resonance: either a righteous zeal stirred by Adonai or a dangerous whisper from the Enemy. Their rage is not merely physical but a clash of unseen powers within the soul.
Bard
Bards weave stories, songs, psalms, and spoken truth that carry real spiritual weight. Some are touched by Adonai's Prophetic Echo, allowing their performances to stir courage, expose lies, or even disrupt demonic influence. Their art is a battlefield of its own.
Cleric
Clerics are those who have responded to the call of a god of Aeramor. Some respond to Adonai in Aeramor, empowered to heal, protect, and confront darkness. Their miracles mirror the Judges and Prophets of the Fertile Crescent, standing as living reminders that the God of Earth now moves openly in this world. Others serve the mysterious First Ones who once walked Aeramor.
Druid
Druids sense the deep memory of creation woven through Aeramor’s forests, rivers, and mountains. Since the arrival of the Fertile Crescent, many druids have felt a renewed harmony and a rising corruption as Adonai seeks to heal the world while the Enemy attempts to twist nature to his will.
Fighter
Fighters are the disciplined defenders of Aeramor’s nations, Lyon, Grymmsfist, the Vale, and beyond. Whether trained in royal academies or hardened on the brutal frontiers, they stand for their beliefs with sword and shield. Some stand in the gap between the innocent and the oppressor, while others bring chaos stirred by demonic forces and political greed.
Monk
Monks pursue mastery of body and spirit, seeking clarity in a world shaken by divine revelation and fiendish brutality. Some study ancient Aeramori disciplines; others follow teachings brought by the study of Adonai. Their strikes carry purpose, and their stillness carries purpose.
Paladin
Paladins swear sacred oaths that fuel their immense power. Some yield to Adonai, becoming radiant warriors against the Enemy’s schemes. Their oaths echo the ancient covenants of Scripture, and their presence on the battlefield is a declaration that light still pushes back the darkness in Aeramor. Others serve the darkness, ever seeking to douse the light.
Ranger
Rangers patrol the wild edges of civilization, Lyon’s trade routes, the Frozen Spine, and the shadowed valleys of the Fertile Crescent. The faithful few walk where demonic influence festers. They are scouts, hunters, and quiet guardians who know that spiritual threats often hide behind natural dangers.
Rogue
Rogues navigate the morally gray spaces of Aeramor. Some infiltrate corrupted courts, expose demonic conspiracies, or steal back what darkness has claimed. Others utilize their subtlety as a weapon in a world where deception is one of the Enemy’s oldest tools.
Sorcerer
Some Aeramori discovered magic awakening within them after Adonai’s arrival. They received gifts or burdens tied to ancient lineages or celestial encounters. Others receive their abilities through the Enemy’s tampering or ancestral decree. The Sorcerer's power is personal, volatile, and often tied to destiny.
Warlock
Warlocks forge pacts with beings who walk the unseen realms. Some choose to serve Adonai; others make pacts with the primeval forces of Aeramor itself and still others seek out demons to aid in twisting Aeramor’s fate. Every pact is a crossroads, and every invocation reveals which master they truly serve.
Wizard
Wizards study the arcane with disciplined curiosity, cataloging how Aeramor’s magic interacts with the divine upheaval brought by the revelation of Adonai. Many now research Allustrium, the mysterious metal whose properties may be tied to the spiritual war unfolding across the world.
